Default ABS and Brake Light on

95 Blazer. I was going to post this in the thread I started over a year ago but it was locked. ABS and brake light has been on for over a year. I figured out the fuse was blown and now every time I change it out it just blows again fairly quickly. Does this sound like a pinched wire shorting out from the speed sensor or some other electrical deal. Braking is not hampered at all. 20k miles since this issue came up. Thanks.

Default RE: ABS and Brake Light on

I went through months of tracking this problem down with my 2001 blazer LT. first your hubs are shot if you want to mess around buying new sensors and installing them AND then finding out that the hubs are also shot go right a head. I bought hubs off of eBay for 128.00 (Both) and had my mechanic install them for 160.00 both sides and then I had them bleed the whole brake system; that is when my brake light and ABS light went off.

I did buy new sensors and installed them on the old hubs but when ever i stopped the abs would kick in at slow speeds around 5 mph...

The hubs were shot.... that is why I'm saying buy the hubs and install them or have them installed and have the brake system bled...

Hope this helps...
Jim

I also had this problem on my '01 Blazer and found many different fixes on this forum. After going through most of them, I ended up having a friend take it to his shop. There was an ABS control module that had to be replaced. A used one cost me $500, new ones were for around $1000. Once that was replaced, I never have had an issue since with ABS.
