Abs/Brake light on when starting truck. Move truck. Turn off/on no abs/brake.

2001 s10 blazer.

Start truck up and sometimes I have a abs / brake light on. I check the ground and connectors. Seems to be okay. Same thing with brake fluid. If I drive the truck a few feet and turn it off. When I restart the lights are off. I have actually just turned the truck off. Pushed it back and forth while in park. Turned truck back on. No lights. If I don't move the truck at all. The light will keep coming back on most of the time. I'm thinking dirty or bad spot on a abs sensor. Oh and once the lights are on. They stay on and once they are off and I drive around. The only other time I had this issue was on my grand prix and it just got worse over night and just ended up being a bad sensor. Any additional testing before taking it to the shop to have it scanned or should I just take it in when The light are on and see if they can scan it?

Thanks,

Josh

The ABS sensor wires are prone to failure after time. Road dirt and/or salt can also foul these sensors. Some people have had hit-or-miss luck with cleaning the sensor areas, while others have the same luck with replacing the sensors w/o prior scanning. However, the safest thing is to have the system scanned and repaired as needed.
