Default ABS help

I have a 99 ZR2.The ABS hasn't worked for some time now. I'm going to sell the thing, and want to see if I can figure it out. A while back, the ABS would kick in randomly on dry pavement. I think I had a screwed up speed sensor. All of the sudden the ABS quit working all together and the light came on. I'm thinking it's from it kicking on so often it maybe wore the pump out. Anyone know where to start diagnosing. I have a scanner at home that reads ABS codes, but the scanner wont even recognize that the vehicle has ABS. Could this mean the the control module is shot, not giving a reading?
Thanks

Is the ABS light and Brake lite both on or just one?

Check the fuses under the hood.

The scanner not talking to the ABS module could just be an incompatibility, but could be as you said a shot module. Or could just be cracked solder joints on the circuit board; hopefully. Be worth the time/effort to reflow/resolder the connector pins, relay pins, solenoid pins to see if that fixes it as you will get more for the ZR2 with a working ABS.

Thanks for the input. I got it sold. I put it on craigslist at 11 at night and had 4 people emailing and texting before lunch, and at least 2 more later in the day. I had people offering me full price without even seeing it. I guess I should've asked for more money. Oh well. I was asking what KBB said it was worth in good condition, excellent condition was only $200 more. I thought i would have trouble getting what I was asking with the ABS issue. The cruise control is also inoperative. I have a super clean 07 Grand Prix GXP with only 59,000 miles also for sale with no issues at all. It has been on craigslist for about a week and I haven't got a single contact. I thought that was the one that would go quick. You just never know. Thanks again.
