Default ABS Idiot light

I have a '97 Blazer and the ABS Idiot light is on when I start to drive.
I have blead the brakes, replaced the pads & shoes, replaced the ABS sensor/shield on the front left due to the wire being rubbed by the inside of the wheel and wearing through the wires.
This shut the light off after re-starting the vehicle but the light comes on before I get to 5 mph.
I'm trying to get this vehicle ready for my daughter to drive when she gets around to getting her license and want everything working like it should.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Charlie

You'll probably have to scan for codes, possible wheel speed sensor.

Just a regular OBD II scan tool right?
Last time I scanned it (a friends scanner) it came up clear.
ABS light was on then also.
Where/how do I check if the speed sensor is working properly?

No, a generic OBD2 scan tool will not be able to read the EBCM (electronic brake control module - aka ABS brain). An enhanced OBD2 scan tool will be required, but you will want to read the fine print on the scan tool to ensure that it is capable of reading the ABS system.

The thread below will tell you how to test the WSS (wheel speed sensors):
Brakes - Low Speed (below 5 MPH) ABS Activation
