AC leak...photo attached
I just had my accumulator, evaporator and orifice tube replaced because the evaporator went...A week or two ago some of the green dye was in the same location of the photo below...I wiped it up and cleaned it all up to see if it was a leak...today I see this..
http://www.illuminationsfx.com/duckpics/freon.jpg If you look below the compressor...lots of green dye there...is this a sign of a bad compressor....it does make a racket when I turn on the AC...I can post a vid up with the noise if need be. |

Yep, seal on the compressor crapped out on you. Is the system still operational? I guess it is possible that the system was overcharged.

It is still blowing cold air...so that means a new compressor...cruddo...

If you are working on this yourself try ackits.com for parts. That's where I gpt parts from when I refurbished two systems recently.

RE: AC leak...photo attached
Well...it finally went out the other day. I was just trying to milk it until it failed...NOW my question is this...a few months ago I had the accumulator and orifice tube replaced....after that is when the compressor seal went....is it necessary to REPLACE those two things AGAIN...??

Depending where you got them from, they should have came with a warranty. Take them back and have them exchange them out. Make sure you let them know that you are buying a compressor and they will help you out all they can.
