Adhesive for door panel plastic
Morning All,
Just wondered if anyone can recommend a good adhesive for the plastic to plastic areas. Mainly my little troughs in the bottom. I'd like to glue the bottom inside corner while I have the panels off. Even a black or grey putty type if that's all that available. I've tried super glue on speaker cover tabs on the dash but it doesn't work at all. Thanks and have a nice day Graveyard |
I've always had the best luck with JB weld. Just make sure the surface is clean.

Okay, Thank you.
I tried "Dr. Bond" by permatex. So far so good. Not sure it will hold up over the long run though. Only time will tell. Later |
3M VHB tape. It will hold up to vibration, bumps, and high temperatures.

I am thinking about giving that Q Bond a try that Eric the Car Guy has shown in a few of his videos.

I've decided not much of anything glue related is going to hold for long. Once the tabs break it's probably tine for a new door panel. Some of the glue is still holding up but to help me forget about it and reduce any rattles, I lined the bottoms with a rubber backed black carpet. Actually trimmed them from an old company mat. Works great!
Later and thanks for the input |
I wish there was somewhere to get a "new" door panel instead of a new to you brittle plastic door panel. If there is, let me know because all the salvage yards around here are running out of Blazers, Jimmy's, S-10's... and the ones they have, well the panels are typically destroyed.

Lemme know (or toss a pic up) of what you are looking for. I've spent many an hour looking for parts for my 04 blazer (interior mostly). I've found factory replacement pieces for pretty reasonable online, can share or help "innovate" a solution as I've had to do for some things.
