Air pump hose t connector melted

2001 Blazer 2wd. Started it up yesterday and heard air rushing out from under the engine. The T-connector that connects the hose coming out of the air pump (under the radiator) to 2 hoses going toward the engine melted. I do not want to replace the T without knowing what caused it to melt in the first place. Any suggestions?

Follow the hose toward the engine and you'll find a check valve, the check valve needs replacement. Buy Wells Vehicle Electronics Air Pump Check Valve E254 at Advance Auto Parts

+1 ....

Will do! Thanks! Too bad the T-Connector is a dealer part only.

Yeah, I think there are 2 check valves.

you could probably rig up a T at homodepot but probably not worth the time or effort

with the T out it should be easy to figure out which check valve is shot once you start the motor
