To all that has the clanking sound on the passerger right....

please post of what you did to find that clank sound, mine has it since I've owned it and I have been driving myself crazy trying to find out what it is.

here is the rundown on what was done to the front end in the past 1.4 years:

New;
TSB Hood hinge
Shocks, front
ball joints
outer tie rods, I forgot if the inners were replaced
caliper pins
sway bar links
hubs
idler arm
new tires
rotors
pads, yes the clips are on them

I get the clank going over speed bumps, or little bumps BUT I don't hear anything at highway speeds.

I've checked it with the windows open and closed, I hear it with the windows open, I don't hear it with the windows closed.

I'm on a mission to find this clank

I spent 3 hrs uner the blazer with a rubber mallet and could not find the clank.

I checked the heat shield.

This is really pissing me off!!!!

The autozone guy told me that his GF has the same blazer and her's does the same thing...

If anyone has ideas or their own experience or fix please post.....

Go outside, open your hood and try to move the hood hinge up and down!
I will bet you that the nut and bolt that goes throught the hinge has unscrewed itself! A washer and some red loctite should fix it!

That's been done 2 years ago. I first heard of the TSB when I had my 1995 Blazer... so that one of the first things I did.

Then you should put that in your "what's done list" as this is the first thing people will think about when it comes to unknown clank sound from that area.
Mine unscrewed itself even after the GM shop tightened it, it took red loctite to fix it.

FOUND THE RATTLE!!!!

the bolts that hold the inside (black) of the fender, right above the tire..

the lowest bolt was loose, don't ask me how it got loose, was stripped to I took it out and put a plug there and no rattle....

it seems weird now I don't hear that rattle....

But that is where it was on mine..

check all of the bolts...

Ok the rattle is back...

It seems like when the truck is cold it DOES'T rattle when I go over a speed bump...

BUT when the engine is hot it does...

Can anyone figure that out?

I just noticed it this morning, the difference between when it's cold and warmed up...

does anyone think it could be the motor mounts?

I hear the clank from the center of the engine and actually had someone outside when I was going over a speed bump notice that the rattle came from the center of the engine.
