Automatic headlights

I'm sure there's probably threads on this already but help me out here..is there a way to disable the automatic headlights so I can manually use the headlight switch? can anyone help me? or point me to a good thread about how to do this? thank you :)

Very easy. Install a resistor, readily available from Radio Shack for a few pennies in place of the sensor. I still have four of them as I had to buy a five pack.

The amount of ohms you need depends on the year of your Blazer.

A simple search on here should find you what you need. I've already had a few beers tonight and, sorry to say, I am too lazy to do the search for you.

or you could try to push the dome light override switch 3 or 4 times fast you will hear a ding ding and the lights should be off, but you have to do that every time you start the car

The dome light over-ride switch, just press it in and out 2 times and the lights will turn off.

does this do anything with the drl lights? i'm not near the truck, plus it's dark, and i'll forget by morning lol sorry for asking :D

The push button trick kills both the AHL and the DRL. The resistor only kills the AHL.

i tried that button thing for a few minutes when i was leaving for work, then at work to lunch, and then tonight. no dice. the way i've been today, i can believe i did it wrong lol but it didn't work on my 98 jimmy slt

I want to ADD AHLs and DRLs to my '91....hahahhah

I'm no help.

Make sure your Ebrake is all the way up

Huh? I get the resistor suggestion, but I have stated here before JUST WHY would one want to dis-able the DRL's,a PROVEN safety factor! Unless you are doing something illeagal. Just my thought!
