Default Axle Seal went for the 3rd time..

Since I had this truck, the axle seal on the driver side went twice, now it went on the passenger side. This isn't a new thing for me, but is this normal at 150k? Or could something in the axle be causing the seals to blow out?

Did you replace the wheel bearing each time? A worn wheel bearing will cause accelerated wear on the axle seal.

Also, was there a wear mark on the axle itself?

I paid my mechanic to replace the seal and axle bearing, I know last time it went on the driver side, it tore up the axle shaft and I had to buy a replacement for it. This may be a stupid question but are the axle and wheel bearing the same? If not, no they likely weren't replaced.

Yes, they are the same. That is odd...

Well, it's the passenger side this time, I'm assuming it's from normal wear and tear, it's at 146k. Unfortunate part is I'll likely have to do the brakes, parking brake again as well as they all are covered in gear oil.

You need to check your axles to make sure they aren't bent or warped . I have 155,000 on my Blazer & never have had a rear axle seal go bad. In fact the last time I had an axle seal go bad was because of a bad bearing. You have something wrong & you need to check closely. Are your brakes releasing fully? All I know is you need to check every little thing because that isn't normal at all.
