ball joint brand?

I need to replace the lower ball joints in my 95 blazer and found some at rockauto for nine dollars apiece. They were made by spicer and were called something like a red joint. Anyone ever heard of these or used them. The average price even from my local autozone is approx twenty five dollars. thanx. wk.

I never heard of them. What kind of warranty comes with them? For $9 a piece I would be a little leary. I use MOOG, they are good and garranteed(sp) for life.

you see those very cheap parts available on rockauto for lots of application ....they are labelled "service grade" usually.

I don't know what that means....but I would not touch them with a ten foot pole. They have got to be cheap for a reason!

if they are made by spicer they shouldnt be that bad of quality,if there made in the states
they should be ok, i would get the cheap ones if your truck is a thrasher like mine as
something else will put it out of service before those cheap parts will. on the other hand if
your truck is in good shape and you plan on keeping it for a long time, spend the extra bucks for the good ones.

Ill only use MooG.

Spicer is not a bad brand but check where they are made. You might want to check into the ball joints that www.suicidedoors.com sells, they have em for bagged truck that change angles ALOT and are claimed to be the strongest on the market. Im just not sure if they are for 4x4's or not.
