I got tired of seeing the back sag on my '01 ZR2 as well, few weeks ago I ordered an Add-a-leaf pack off amazon and it did the trick.

 

The rear of mine sags too.
Old thread, but would helper springs lift it, or just keep it from settling more with additional loads?

I'm trying to figure out if I need to fully replace my leaf springs, add a leaf, or what.

 

I ended up using helper springs, Maybe a lift spring would work better, I don't know

 

"*** sag" is actually a trend among the younger folks who drive those big honkin 4x4 trucks down here in GA. They intentionally make the rear squat down several inches lower. Looks completely stupid to me. I mean how the hell do they see over the hood?

 

I got both an add-a-leaf and a 2" shackle. Adding the leaf will stiffen the suspension a little.

 

Around here, they call that "stance".

 

In my 4 door Blazer I used a long add-a-leaf between the main leaf and the second leaf and it worked great for a few years, but then the long main leaf started to sag in the portion beyond the add-a-leaf. There's a few people who made their own add-a-leaf using the main leaf from a junked Blazer, and cut off the eyes so that the add-a-leaf provides support to the main leaf for it's entire length. If I were doing it again this is the route I would take because I think the full length support will help the older leafs last longer, and it stiffens the suspension properly to my taste.

 

For about $100 to 150 EACH, you can buy a complete spring from company's like General Spring. Price includes bushings. I don't know what other hardware is needed for the installation. Google Chevy S10 Blazer leaf spring. Please note price is for each spring and you need to order two.

 

Generally, you'll want to replace the u-bolts at the same time as the springs. It wouldn't hurt to get the bolts that hold the springs in the hangers, too. Sometimes, they need to be cut to remove them.
