Default Blend Door actuator replacement Pre '98

I can find all kinds of instructions on the install of the electric Air Duct actuator replacement for '98 and up. But my friend has a '97 Jimmy and taking the glovebox out does not expose the heater box area as they say is the technique for post '97.

Any help on the swap out for the older S10's?

Can you take a photo of your glovebox?
My blazer was also build in 97 and i just changed the blend door actuator.

If you open the glovebox it´s on the left side in the back, upper region. Very hard to get there without thin hands, but you dont have to remove the whole dash.

Let me see if I can get over there.

Did anyone ever find a way to replace this blend door actuator when the glove box can't be removed in the older s10 blazers? I have a '97 and can't seem to figure out how to get to it.
