Blinkers got me a Ticket

OK. So it sounds like your multifunction switch is doing what it is supposed to. Your flasher may be out. When you turn on the turn signals, does the dash light blink like it is supposed to for both left & right signals?
Do you have a trailer light connection? If so, test for proper turn signal operation at that location.

Multimeter? Test light? Those two things are common electrical diagnostic tools...
I would definitely look into replacing the flasher module. If the indicators in the dash do not blink, then it is likely the flasher module.

I had the same issue a few years ago on a 96. Hazards worked but turn signals didn't. I hear folks saying "flasher module" but I don't remember the actual name but they are little round silver plugs that are only a few bucks a piece. There is one for hazards and one for turns. Replace both once your in there because I remember tearing almost all of the lower portion of the dash apart to get to the things. they are lower center dash bellow the radio and cuby section.

I had the same thing happen to me, with out the ticket though. I went to Autozone and bout the flasher module for about $9 and replaced it at my friends house. It was a bitch trying to find the damn things. They are located to the left of the cigarette lighter/power outlets on my 97 incase anyone was wondering.

Yup it was $8.99 at autozone. They are located by the lighter plug there was 2 flashers so I guessed the right one was for the blinkers and it was correct. Now they are working so thanks everyone for the help.
