Hello :) I need to know where I can find the blower motor resistor in my 2001 Chevy Blazer? I'm finding conflicting information on the net. Either it's behind the glove box compartment or it's under the hood. If it's under the hood, where exactly would it be?

Thanks!

I actually should explain what is going on with my Blazer too. Maybe it's not the resistor that needs replacing??

A few months ago I started getting a squealing noise when I turned the heat on. Then number 1 stopped working, then number 2, then number 4. So now only 3 works but it's making a loud grinding noise. Some heat still comes out of the vents on number 1 and 2 but not enough to defrost my windshield. And number 3 is so loud I attract attention. lol Obviously I need to get this fixed, and soon because it's getting mighty cold!

The blower motor resistor is located under the hood on top of the HVAC housing towards the center of the truck. Run a search on "blower+motor+resistor" and you should find all kinds of information.

From the sounds of it, you may have both a resistor and motor issue.

Also, please use the edit feature if you need to add information to your post in such a short period of time. Keeps you from violating the rules of the forum. :icon_wink:
