Broken engine mount

Hi guys,

about 9 months ago i decided to get my engine mounts replaced as i noticed that they were severely worn out. I took it to a shop that i normally go to, to get them replaced. the guy asked if i had the mounts or if I wanted him to get them, so i decide that he get them. mounts were replace, the blazer felt smoother with less vibration. 3 months later the driver side mount broke off. luckly i was a week away from the warranty expiration so i rushed it back to the shop. the guy said, wow never seen that before and asked if i was off roading and i said no, being that i live an L.A. and the blazer is not a 4x4. anywho, he went ahead and replaced it free of charge, then I asked what kind of mounts he used, and he said he got them from the local autozone around the corner and they were lifetime warranty. well, 3-4 months has passed and now the again the driver side mount breaks off. I remember the guy saying that the mounts are lifetime warranty but he labor isnt.....but i'm asking myself if i should have him again replace it with the same autozone brand or should i go with another brand or maybe get them from the dealer directly? This is a 95 s10 blazer with the 4.3 w. I've had a 92 s10 blazer with the 4.3 non vortec and i changed the mounts on that one with the local parts brand and never had any trouble. are the 95's with the vortec picky with engine mounts? or is just bad luck on my part?

Its not because its autozones mount, its just a bad design in general. Look up "4.3 poly engine mount"

It'll probably outlast the vehicles life. and its only $45ish each

Each Autozone mount lasted 3 or 4 months? And the OEM mount lasted 17 years? Just my opinion, but there might be a problem with the Autozone mount ;) Perfect example of "you get what you pay for". How long are you planning on keeping the vehicle? If it's longer than 3 or 4 months, you might want to consider an OEM mount and chalk it up as a learning experience for Autozone parts.
