A/C Issues
I just bought a used 1998 Chevrolet Truck Blazer 4WD 4.3L SFI 6cyl. Love the Blazer and it runs strong. The only issue is the AC. The guy told me it is missing the A/C Discharge & Suction Hose Assembly. I found some parts online (Part Number: 35107, OEM Part Number: 15034762) but my question is what needs to be done? Just install the hose and get a recharge or could there be more? I heard if that hose is missing and the area left open, then more AC parts need to be replaced. Just want to make sure I don't get ripped off at a car repair place and maybe it is something I can do myself. Any comments and replys would be appreciated.
thanks,
Tim

What guy told you that? Just look under the hood. Your compressor may be toast, too. Afterall, why on earth did the hoses get removed? If the condenser inlet and hose connection on the compressor didn't get plugged, you're probably going to have issues with clogs and internal wear on the compressor.
I'd say you need to see if your compressor even engages with the pressure switches jumped before you start throwing money at it. Google should help, and this site has some A/C tech articles posted.
You also need a new accumulator ($15-$20) and orifice tube ($2). A/C tech has to draw vacuum on the system before charging it.
