A/C Leaking from Front of Compressor

I got a refill kit to charge the 1995 Blazer. I jumped the wire to keep the compressor running and added the whole can of refrigerant. The air started to get cold in the cab after the can was empty and showed the correct charge on the gauge. When I turned the engine off, I could hear leaking refrigerant from the front of the compressor and the gauge slowly started to drop. It sounds like the leak is coming from the shaft of the compressor clutch. Can a seal be bought to correct this or would I have to buy a new clutch for the fix? I don't have my manual in front of me and was wondering how difficult this would be to fix. AZ has an O-Ring Seal Kit and I was also wondering if that kit would have the right seal to fix the problem. Thanks!

RE: A/C Leaking from Front of Compressor

there are numerous manufactuers with this problem. your best bet would be to find a company that rebuilds them and knows about the problem because you will end up with the same thing over and over. i installed compressers from mazda to chevy to forsd with the same problem. i spoke to a rebuild manufactuer and he said he had the fix for it when no one else did. something to do with the shaft and the bearing and seal. i wouldnt waste the time or money rebuilding. there is a company in florida that is all they do is ac work and there real reputable. i will try to get the number. or search the net and call the tech support at the different companys
