Call me a hack but...
I'm cutting a hole in my floor above the gas tank. Im wondering if anyone has done this to replace a fuel pump before. If so, i was wondering where exactly the hole should be so i can access the pump.
|
Dont do that, its wrong in so many ways
|
Im doing it. Im gunna cut a flap in it like this |___| and pull it back. Then replace the pump. Then hit it back down and put seam sealer around it. It will be like its not even there, until i need to get to the fuel pump again :icon_goofygrin:

Well, good luck with that. I'd recommend doing it the right way by dropping the tank, but hey, it's your truck.
|
You're going to cut the gas tank, I'm calling it.
:) |
Oh Puleeze!... You have got to post some pics of this!:icon_photo:

Seems like it'd be a lot less hassle to just drop the tank. If you are going to go through with it, and are worried about having to do it again to get to the pump, why not cut a square out while you're at it and put hinges on it. |
Lmmfao. So its really not that hard to drop the gas tank. But do what you want, and please post pics.
|
yeah its not gonna be much faster to pull the carpet back. Cause you will have to remove the tie down hooks too. Which the welded nuts usually break and its a pita to remove them. Unless you just cut through the carpet to. LOL. Good luck to ya. Take pics
