ive been running with no cat for like 3 years now, no problems, and no ses light! 240, 000kms and still runs like a champ!
local muffler shop actually suggested it to me, says they do it all the time, cheaper than replacing a bad cat! and it sounds so much better. the 1st time i started it up i was like f*** ya!!! lol |

I guess it all depends on where you live, huh? Even though I live in an EXTREMELY eco-friendly town, Indiana did away with vehicle inspections, like 30 years ago.
Finding someone to do it, is the problem! Gotta know someone..... |
so the plug just tricks ur truck into thinking it has the correct emissions??
|
Yeah it tricks the truck, but you'll still fail emissions tests if you have them.
Here in Oklahoma, we don't have emissions tests OR vehicle inspections. LOL |
yeah same here as DBSOUND said Indiana hasnt had emission test for like 30 years lol

what kind of muffler do u suggest badidolenny?? im the friend of boyers with the straight pipe from cat back...wouldnt a muffler make it quieter? even a large chamber one?
|
yeah i was wondering that too....and im still confused on the plug? i dont see how it works bcuz its just looks like a bolt
|
That plug will trick nothing. It is just a metal plug that is used to cap off the hole in the exhaust. There really is no need to use it though as you can just leave your O2 sensor in there.
If you are really bent on removing it, you need a simulator to trick the PCM. That or have the PCM tuned to remove the B1S3 or B1S2 codes. |
