Changing master cyl???
 

I want to remove all abs stuff. Can I throw in a 1st gen master cyl, or can I use my stock one with rear drum/front disk without issue???

You can use your stock master cylinder - you will obviously have to make up the lines to fit. Don't know how it is where you are but here in the UK a vehicle will fail the MOT test (the UK equivilant of your state inspection) if a vehicle has factory ABS & it is removed or disabled.

I think you should just be able to remove the abs but I'm not sure as I have never done this before. But like DaveHearne said I would probably check to see if you would fail the test.

You should be able to use your stock master cylinder as stated. The ABS system really just pulses the pressure coming from the master cylinder to prevent wheel lockup so there isn't much of a reason to change the MC. Just redo the lines. Then, maybe have the PCM reprogrammed to ignore the ABS stuff and you just might have a hope of passing an inspection if they plug in.

Of course, I would only recommend this because it is going onto a off-road specific vehicle. :icon_wink:

Dont need to worry about passing any tests. Only need a safety once. And in Ontario airbags, and abs is not mandatory.

Is it the output closest to the firewall the front brakes, and the output closest to the rad rear brakes. Cant remember what way it goes.
