Check engine light flashes at highway speeds. Have run out of ideas. Help please.

Since this thread is coming back to life.......
I too had the flashing Check Engine Lite one day; I was pulling a trailer so I had the trans in D instead of overdrive. When I got onto the highway and got up to 65/70 is when the CEL began to flash. I shifted into overdrive, which of course dropped the RPMs and CEL flashing went away....never came back....so I just stayed in overdrive when on the highway...trying not to get run-over as the speed limit was 75...which of course means most vehicles were well above 80.
