control arm bushing question

control arm bushing question
I have had squeaking every time i brake in the right front passenger side...took it to 2 places....both saying they beloeve cause of squeaking is my rotting control arm bushings....both quoted me 200 to 500...thats either just bushing of all new control arm...my ball joints werw just replaced so money is tight for something thats not a necessity to replace now ..
Would this really be the reason i get squeaking only when braking? Also is there anything i can spray on the bushings or area to temporarily kill the squeak?

Is is a short squeek or does it continue until you let off the brakes or the vehicle stops?
If it is more than a short chirp it would have to be brakes. I suppose there is the possibility of it being the bushings but they would have to be pretty bad to have metal on metal so that it would squeek.
Spraying them with some kind of lubricant(WD-40, etc) would let you rule them out if the squeeking continues.
They are not a lubricated piece and I do not know the compatability of the rubber and certain oils. You'll have to run your own risk with what you use.
