Default Coolant flush pressure question

Hi guys, I need some help.
Posting this for my father in law.

He has a '99 Blazer with the typical no heat problem. My wife had a '98 so I've dealt with the issue before.

I checked it, and it had the one hot, one cold hose deal, so I told him to get the radiator flushed. So he goes to a local place, that rhymes with spirestone, to get it flushed.
Well they end up blowing out the head gasket and basically ruining the motor. So now we're dealing with all that.

Anyways, here's the kicker and crux of my questioning. He had another motor put in a few years ago when another shop botched an intake manifold gasket job and ruined the original motor. The replacement motor is an '02 I think. Anyway, spirestone is saying the '99 had a higher pressure rating and the machine was calibrated for that, and the newer motor was rated lower, so they basically overpressurized it and yadda, yadda, yadda, not really their fault, etc.

So, have any of you guys heard, or know about different pressure specs for flushing a coolant system in Blazers?

Any help would be appreciated.
-Wade

Why can't you use the word Firestone? Is there some legal reason?

First of all, I would never go to a Firestone for any type of maintenance.

Secondly, they are trying to blow smoke up your ***.
