cpi problem not a problem!!!!!
Well i bought this 95 jimmy for 600 bucks, and its a beautiful truck. Damn thing ran fine then once i got it home, it idled so rough and sputtered. so i did new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, k&n filter and oil. it improved but not alot. Then i replaced egr, and cleaned all of the sensors on the manifold with injector cleaner..... nothing worked, so after hours of reading on this ba forum, i knew it was my cpi. I knew the spider was screwed. So today i took off the plenum just to check before i spent 300 bucks.... it wasnt the spider.... it was this - - - -
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...ed69/lines.jpg Notice the black fuel lines on the fuel lines coming in. This next pic shows that the black fuel lines actually rubbed the other ones causing a small slice. That is what cause my rough idling. So i spent 50 bucks on new lines, and im a happy man. Im glad I read that taking off the plenum and letting your fuel pump run to check for leaks, cuz i would have been ufked outa 300 bucks..... Hope this helps someone http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...69/cutline.jpg |
lucky you!!! cool deal too.

might be having to take a look at this soon hopefully the new plugs and wires take care of it. how many miles to you have on your blazer?
theres 140000 miles on it. But it was poorly maintained.
huh mine was owned by the state and only has 77,000 miles on it.
oh wow. Is yours doing the same? Im sure you know, but check your egr. Its simple and easy. And also causes rough idle. I took mine out and had a carbon rock wedged in mine. so i got a new one, but it was 100 bucks. Then I took carb cleaner to the old one and cleaned the **** out of it, put it back on and it worked just like the new one. Then took the new one back to discount and got my money back!! I like it easy.
i did that with mine. mine was just full of carbon so i sprayed it out cleaned it up put the new gasket with the screen in it. im going to try other things like a full tune up. on her. the thing is once i hit the gas it fine to just go and cruise just only sitting at an idle.
yeah, thats the same with mine. After I put a new fuel filter in mine, it was like 60% better, it stopped shaking my truck but it still gurgled at idle. If you can smell gas in the front of your truck during or after it is running. You definately have a problem. Just take off the plenum, it took me about 10 minutes not even, and check it. And a new gasket is 11 bucks. So its pretty cheap.
oh i dont smell gas or anything.
It still wouldnt hurt, but just wait to do it after you do a full tune up. def, replace your fuel filter. It made a huge difference. Let me know what it was when you figure it out. These ideling problems are a big issue with this motor.
