CV Axle Replacement Quick Method
#12
has anyone done this on non-zr2 trucks? Do you pull it through the spindle hole? Or do you pull it out the differential and then back it out of the spindle and wiggle it out the side?
And the cv axles go into the differential not the transfer case! right?

I think I screwed up, the CV goes into the diff. The transfer case is mounted behind the transmission. Except on the passenger side, the CV goes into the axle shaft/tube which goes into the diff.

Ive done a few axles. But i have yet to do a axle on my bravada. With my previsious experience the hardest part was to get the cv housing out of the stub shaft. Make sure you have a snap ring with your new axle. I read in manuels its not recommended to re-use snap rings. Try droping the lower control arm.

Awesome video! I like that you included part #s and tool numbers very helpful. My seals on my knuckles are bad on both sides and I tried to replace them when I had the truck torn apart last year but couldn't find the parts now I have them written down and ready to go if I ever take it apart again before my SAS.
PS: tell us how you really feal about autozone lol!!!

I think that with the hub assembly out , if you turned the stearing wheel all the to stop
Then flex the outer joint and it might bypass the hole sideways
I dont think the shaft will pull out threw the bearing hole
