Default cv shaft off balance?????

i replaced my driver side cv shaft on my 96 today. after a little test ride it seemed fine. but once i got over 60km/h, my truck seemed to develop an off balance feel in the steering wheel. and once i got to about 70-75km/h it got alot worse. it was fine before i changed it, and at low speeds. so im just trying to figure out if the shaft it off balance, or something else now is messed but on it.

has anyone had this problem before? and what was the fix?

thanks jordan

Yep, I have had this problem... What kind of shafts did you buy?.. made in China?... I installed two new "made in China" shafts and had nothing but vibration problems.
Now I will admit that I also have a 2" RC suspension lift and the shafts are at extreme angles. The cheapy cv shafts definitely do not like lifts...
I ended up swapping mine for Cordone cv shafts and haven't had a problem since.

Where did you buy it? Certain rebuilt cv shafts can maintain pretty close tolerances and high quality. Like I eluded to before... demand quality when buying parts like this.

i got it from a local parts supplier. and normally i always get new parts. but i just couldn't afford what they wanted to charge me at the time. and i needed one asap.

could be the hub nut, not being torqued properly?

i retorqued all the lugs, and the hub nut, and that wasnt the problem, the off balanced wobble feeling is still there. could it be the tie rods?
im so lost on what it could be, and i need it fixed by monday night

I must agree sounds like your cv shaft. I would take it to a shop and have them drive it, its a second opinion at the very least.
