Question A different security light question...

Hey guys, I have a question for you all -- I have a 99 LS Blazer that I am in the process of adding factory RKE to. I installed the module under the dash and swapped in a BCM from a 2001 LT with keyless. Sure enough, I have keyless entry now but the security light was now flashing and wouldn't start. I performed the relearn procedure and the truck started right up on the third try. Everything seems fine now and I turned it off and on a few times to test and it worked every time so far.

So now comes my question! Whenever I open the door the security light blinks at me, but turns off after I close the door. It will stay lit for 30 seconds or so after locking the doors with the remote which I assume is normal behavior, but should it blink when I open the doors? Thanks for the input!

Took a quick vid for you (don't mind the random clicking flasher relay).

Started off in the truck with it locked and alarm set. Hit the unlock button twice (not necessary, just habit so my passengers can get in), then opened the door. I didn't get a clip of the light staying lit after locking the doors, but that occurs as well.

Everything you described sounds normal to me.

Mine's done that from day one since I bought it new.

Awesome, thanks for the input guys -- so it appears I've successfully added factory RKE to my truck then
