Do I need a new ignition coil? Pic inside.

I just did a full tune-up with AC Delco parts. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc. I noticed that my coil has what appears to be a burnt spot on the outside of it, like it is constantly arcing there between the coil and the bracket/housing. I will be checking tonight when it is dark to see if anything happens...but in the meantime, what do you guys make of this? My 01 Bravada appears to kind of act sluggish at times. It has 220k+ on it and it appears to be the original coil, rivets and all. Just wondering if I should go ahead and replace it. I've been looking into the Accel coil, some people say it is a very suitable and powerful upgrade over the OEM coil. Any thoughts on that as well?

Thanks!

tonight pour some water over it and see if it archs. the oem coil puts out enough for the 4.3.

I would spray it with a water bottle instead of pouring, but that is me, but yes, what chris said.

Yea what they said.

I sprayed the coil with water and nothing happened. I didn't see anything arcing either. Still wondering how that spot got there because it really does look like something was arcing there at some point.

maybe heat. but if it runs good leave it. If you want, buy the coil for 25 bucks and keep it in the back. If it dies replace it.

I think there is oil inside so if it was cracked it should show signs of oil leaking
