Does leaking spider or regulator cause codes always?
Ok so I am wondering if a leaking fuel injection component always causes codes? The reason I am asking is my 1997 4x4 blazer just recently started drinking gas. It usually takes me 1/4 tank of gas to get to work and back. Now its using 1/2 tank for the same trip. Unfortunately its cold and snowy here not to mention Christmas so i just don't have time to look at it right now. I did look and i don't see any fuel leaks underneath the vehicle but its wet from all the snow so hard to tell.
Just wondering if a fuel component in the upper intake was leaking it could maybe cause this and not cause a code too? I am turning to the fine people here @ Blazerforum.com for some experience to limit my time in the cold searching. So any comments or ideas are welcome.
Thanks and Merry Christmas
Robert

The answer is no, a fuel leak inside the intake plenum does not always cause codes. To diagnose a leak, you need a fuel pressure gauge.

Well thanks for the reply. Im off this week and am gonna look into this thing. Its gotta be leaking somewhere cuz i t using way to much fuel. I dont see or smell a leak. My uncle told me to keep a eye on the oil as the fuel could get in there and i wasnt thinking that way. So hopefully ill have a answer this week.
