Default Door issue

I couldn't close my drivers door (98 Blazer) last night...found out that the latch that is on the frame was damaged (steel was cracked).

I managed to move it so that I could get the door to close.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I was thinking getting the part welded into place, but I called one place and they were going to charge me 400+ to fix it.

That's ridiculous I'd check other places the striker on the door frame of my driver door rusted totally out of the frame and it only cost me $50 to have a new plate welded in the striker re-mounted they even cleaned up the welds and painted the area to fade into the rest of the truck, can't tell anything ever happened to it by looking.
