Door Latch and Striker Alignment Issue 2000 Blazer

7 Attachment(s)
Hey Ya'll,

I recently replaced the door pins and bushings. The passenger door opens and shuts like new... However, the driver's side sticks a little bit when opening and closing. Upon further inspection it looks like the door latch is about 1/4"-1/2" higher than the striker. I tried to take a picture (see attached). I tried adjusting the striker a little higher with not much luck.

I haven't read anything where the door is doing the opposite of sagging, but it seems like my door is sitting too high. I want to fix this before my striker plate busts out of the pillar.

Any ideas on how to re-align the latch with the striker? I used a jack to jack up the door when changing the pins, is it possible I jacked the door too high and bent my hinges? (seems unlikely but who knows).

I also attached some pictures of the whole car, just got it last month!

Any help would be appreciated!

Three star screws on door, loosen and move it

I don't believe there is any adjustment in the latch it's self.
Loosen the striker(not just a little, spin the bolts out a bit).give the striker a whack in the with a hammer(preferably soft tipped) in the direction you want to move it. It should break loose so you can adjust it and tighten it back up.

The adjustment plates in the pillar get frozen in place even on cars that are only a couple years old.

I just did mine with the screws on the door

Oh no kidding, I've never done one on a blazer- pretty much no newer cars have any adjustment on the latch side. I stand corrected
