DTC codes on 99 Bravada

just got my truck back from intake gaskets from my local craigslist mechanic (which i will never do again) i got some DTC and me SES light on
P1345=camshaft and crankshaft positions are out of time
P1404=EGR stuck open
obviously the distributor was removed so im thinking maybe its off so i need to know how to make sure its set on properly

also the idiot told me he removed and cleaned my EGR as a courtesy to me (ya courtesy my ass) can anyone snap a picture of the EGR so i can see the correct orientation of its placement? thinking its on the wrong way

P1345 means the distributor was not installed correctly. It's off at least one tooth, and it could be off in either direction. This link explains how to time it correctly: https://blazerforum.com/forum/tech-a...-timing-24373/

Take care of that first, then clear the codes and see if the P1404 returns. Let us know and we can help you with that.

As the captain says, 1345 is the distributor out of time for sure, the egr valve can be a couple things, it could be that its on backwards, it could have been wrecked by cleaning or there could be an electrical problem like damaged wiring or a bent pin or loose female terminals in the plug. The code indicates a pintle position error, this requires a 5 volt reference and the sensor in the egr has to send a specific voltage back. Check out this page for some general info on EGR testing

anyway for s/g's i flipped the EGR around (plug is on the left side now) and took her for a ride and no SES light no codes can anyone confirm i have the EGR on right?

The EGR electrical connector should point to the passenger side, (right side) of the vehicle.

Glad you got her fixed, thanks for posting back. Might want to find a new "mechanic" ;)
