Have you unwrapped and inspected the wiring harness from the under hood fuse box all the way to the firewall?
The reason I ask is the big red wire going to the abs motor is fused at 60 amps. That's the one that smoked mine.

I didn't get to that. I am taking it to the shop tomorrow after work. Luckily it is pretty close. Oddly today, the backup lights didn't come on, the car started fine and the gauges worked. The back door unlocked itself a bunch of times and it made my amp power light flicker the first time it did that. And now my power door locks don't work. I am tired of messing with it and I won't have any time for the next week or so anyway.

I understand. One last push. Follow the red wire from the abs motor towards the fuse box. We're running out of places you haven't looked at for burned wires. I don't want you to take it somewhere and say, "I've looked everywhere but here" and have it be burned there.

I'm sorry that we were not able to find your problem. Please report back on what the shop finds.

Will do. My issue was a matter of time. It rained all weekend and by the time I get home in the evening it is almost dark, and i won't be around this weekend.

I like to know what caused that . I had a worn wire rubbing on a metal bracket that would barely short and caused all kinds of problems. I actually found it at night, purposely moving wires around .

I talked to him on Friday and he hasn't even touched it yet. If he doesn't get to it in a couple of days i will get it back and mess with it this weekend since i have 3 days off.

So, I finally went and took the blazer back since it was obvious that he wasn't going to do anything with it. I pulled the radio out and completely removed the wires that went to the amp for remote turn on and the wire that went to the backup light to turn the camera on. I did find a few frayed spots in the wire for the backup camera turn on but nothing severe. However, with them disconnected the radio seems to work and the gauges work, but I only had it running for a minute or so. With them disconnect I didn't have any weird issues except for the fact that my power door locks don't work anymore and my security light stays on. I only had a few minutes to play with it last night. I might drive it around for a few minutes tonight to see if the radio fuse or the gauges fuse blow (I bought a box of 10amp fuses, I am almost out).
