Electrical issue with my 97

OK, I am going to be super descript and wordy here;

-It all started a week ago. Driving at about 35mph my engine seemed to experience an electrical cutout. All of a sudden the engine bogged and the dash cluster lights light up, the door buzzer went off, and the doors unlocked. All gauges lost power and went to a 0 reading. Heres the weird part. Radio power, fan power, and dash lights/headlights stayed on. This "bog" lasts about 1 to 2 seconds then it all returns to normal. It only occurs at slow speeds (25-40 mph) and at least once a day. This over the last week, has now started happening twice a day randomly.

- Yesterday I was parked with the engine running. I pressed brake, shifted to reverse, and I experienced the same cutout as mentioned above, at a stand still this time and it killed the engine. I sifted to park. Restarted engine. Shifted to reverse and it did this again. Third time I was able to keep it running.

-Today, it started something new that I feel is related, primarily to my first issue. When parked, I insert key and turn. If I try to start it immediately it will turn over and over. Then the dash lights come on 2 seconds later than usual and it starts. If I just turn the key to ACC, I see the radio turn on and hear the fan kick on. But, I can count to two before the dash lights kick on.

What kind of an issue is this?

I have a new fuel pump, plugs, wires, cap, alternator, fuel filter and air filter. Aall installed within last 5 months. Help. tia

RE: Electrical issue with my 97

I had a similar situation, it was a badly corroded negative battery cable.
