electrical problem
Hi, own a 2001 Chevy Trailblazer LT 4 door V6
First problem i have is, if i lock the vehicle, and leave it, the security light on the dash stays on, this is running the battery flat and im pretty sure thats not normal for it to stay on.
The other problem, and i think it might be the cause of the first, is, when i start the truck, the dash lights come on, when the engine fires over, the dash lights go out, then come back on and stay on while im driving, this is the check gages light, ABS light, hand brake light, airbag light etc, the fuel guage doesnt tell you how much fuel is in the truck and the temp guage doesnt work.
This fault has been going on for several weeks now and im buggered if i know what is causing it, any ideas????? HELP!
Really miss driving my blazer.

I would suspect the ignition switch. Jerry

Yeah, I agree, sounds like the switch..And about the security light staying on. I'm pretty sure that is supposed to stay on. It lets would be car thieves know there's a security system. And it shouldn't run your battery down, there's a very very small power draw there.

The security light should not remain on after the key is removed.
It definitely sounds like the ignition switch is at fault. Take a look at the link at the bottom of my signature.
