Default Engine cooling fan

When I start my 1998 Blazer when it's cold the engine fan turns on automatically. Is this normal or is my fan clutch crap? The fan runs no matter how hot or cold the engine is.

Yep, thats normal, the fan is belt driven and is on when the engine is running. The only way around this is to install a electronic fan.
