engine swap

ok, my engine is dying(bearings) and i want to swap in a used one from a silverado, what exactly needs to be changed over when doing this and what years are compatible? ive heard of different timing covers on newer models. ive searched but noone goes into details...

will a 2003 blazer engine work if I swap the intake/exhaust manifolds and drill/tap the knock sensor?

Pretty much. I would use the MFI spider from the '03 as well.

Thats what the plan is, I just need to find out if it was a 4x4 or not. If not I'll have to swap the oil pan and pickup tube I think. But other then that it should be pretty simple.

WOOHOO! Swap is done, what a complete Bitch that was.... finished this morning and drove it home...2003 blazer into a 2000... had to swap all manifolds and had a hell of a time getting everything back into place... runs like a top!(after 3 attempts at timing it).. not a single check engine light, doesn't miss, but I do need to remove and clean the IAC valve... and get a new clip for the cruise control... holay crap the oil pressure is almost double the old engine at idle and cruise... awesome
