RE: Engine Temps?

Ok so I need to change the thermostat, not the sender. What does the sender do then?

RE: Engine Temps?

It supplies the computer with Engine Coolant Temps (ECT) so that it can tell if the engine is warmed up. The 4.3 is supposed to work best above 170*.

RE: Engine Temps?

Well I was just told the sender tells me what the temp is via my guage on my dash and the thermo sensor tells the computer what the temp is. I think I am going to just change them both for peace of mind.
