Floor Heat
 

I have 2000 Chevy Blazer LT; currently I am having a problem I'm hoping someone might recognize. I am getting heat with no problem, and it goes where directed: defrost, vents, etc...the only place I can not direct it is to the floor, no matter what is selected. Any help is appreciated.

sounds like the rod may havefell off the actuator

How do I check and repair that? Any chance it's a vacuum line?

Actutor appears to attached and working properly. Found that behind the glove box.

did you check for vaccume while you were in there, try pulling the line off (may be a clear elbow slip fit) and moving the heater controls and see if you get suction. May even be your heater controls, always good to try and isolate it by the cheapest fix first

Vacuum is good I have suction, actuator does move when a selection is made.

I just encountered this exact problem with my 98 S10 Blazer.

I just found out what's up with floor vents on my 98 Blazer. The flapper inside the air box under the dash is broken. All the actuators were working fine. So I took a mirror and looked inside the box from underneath the dash. The flapper pivots on a rod inside. It looks like the rod broke. I think I have to remove the air box to split it. So I guess I will have no heat this winter. Bummer.
jetrider, I hope yours isn't this problem. This looks like a nightmare to fix.

Same problem here. I can change from vent to defrost etc. But it won't go to the floor, it takes a couple seconds and then blows pretty strong through the defrost vents. I do have vacuum in the red and blue lines going to the actuator and it does move when setting to the defrost. But nothing moves when setting it to the floor. Does this mean bad actuator? It also snaps pretty hard when goingto defrost. Linkage looks good and no problems there. How do I know it's not a broken diverter flap in the vents. Are there signs?
