four wheel drive

ya about a year or two ago my 4x4 went out. i think it was when i hit a big mud hole in my stock blazer when my buddys dug out the hole with there 44s lol anyways i have had it looked at about 3 times and on one can seam to figure out the reason why it wont engage.

Does the transfer case shift into all the ranges correctly? Check the actuator on the front axle to be operating properly. I would start tracing vacuum lines. Sounds like you may have snagged or pulled something loose.

ya i have had the lines checked for leaks but nothing. i hit the 4x4 button on the dash and it blinks and blinks and then goes back to 2.and i have had the actuator looked at i believe.

Lets start with a little information about your truck... 3-button or 4-button dash switch?

Ok, so it sounds like the t-case is not shifting from 2hi, is that what you are saying? So now you gotta figure out why the t-case shifter is not working... could be seized up from not being used enough. May have to remove it and clean it up or replace it. Anyone else got any ideas?

Let us know when you know for sure how many buttons...

The 3-button configuration can be diagnosed fairly easily, but the 4-button configuration is not as easy.

Run a search for NV236 or NP236 and read up some. They are not the easiest transfer cases to diagnose without a scan tool.
