RE: front brake pad replacement...

Remove the caliper bolts and lift up on the caliper. Clean and lubricate the slider pins with high temp caliper grease. Clean or replace the shims that the pads slide on. Install the new pads after removing the worn out ones. Push the caliper piston back in with a c-clamp. Reinstall in reverse of disassembly.

Bolts are on the back side of the caliper. Being a '96, you probably have single piston calipers. I believe you will have internal hex head bolts to remove that will have sleeves assembled onto them.

Maybe this will help - Single Piston:

Two Piston:

96 is the simgle piston with a hex head you have to get from behind the caliper

[align=left]Like Kyle said it takes a BMF c-clamp to compress the caliper piston and a tip is to use one of the old pads placed in the caliper for a flat and even push on the piston. Also remember to support the caliper at all times - if you're not holding it in hand -- hang it by a heavy wire (I have a section of stout wire coat hanger cut and saved just for that purpose) and never let it hang by the line.
