Default Front differential

The guys are great here, they helped me out with my 2002 blazer 4x4 front drive shaft spinning in 2 wheel drive, the cable was siezed up and it was stuck with the front differential engaged. My question now is i drove 2500 miles on a trip at 70 to 75 miles per hr and i have a whinning noise, and on take off till about 50 mph it has a noise with wheel rotation with the front differential in netural, now i took off the cable.Do you think i could have damaged the front gear box.
Thanks Al

Default RE: Front differential

Not sure I understand your question?

The whir noise could be from your front actuator being partially engaged. I had the same problem on my truck. It would whir after driving on the interstate for a while. Slow down or turn the engine off and the noise went away. My fix was replacing the vacuum switch on hte t-case. After driving for a while the switch would move becuase of engine vacuum. It was partially engagein g the front diff.
