Front end Squeak in my 99 Blazer 2WD

My 99 Blazer has 125K and is my daily driver. Its been a great vehicle and I intend to drive it for years to come. My question is regarding the front end. It has developed a front end squeak. I can push down gently on either side of the front bumper and it squeaks pretty easily. I am thinking its the control arms but I am not sure. How can I pinpoint the squeak and if it is the upper or lower control arms then how can I quiet the noise. Thanks

I had a friend of mine say that it may be the ball joints. Is this a known problem? I keep them greased and check them often. Not sure the ball joints would make this type of a noise??

Ball joints are know issues on the 4x4 blazers. You can check them easily by jacking up the front wheel and trying to wiggle the wheel from 12 and 6 o'clock.

Mine is a 2 wheel drive so maybe its not the ball joints. I will be looking closely at the control arm bushings.

Well after spendind a little time with the Blazer I pinpointed the noise to the control arm bushings. I soaked them with WD-40 and then greased them and its very quiet now. Brings back the good Ol'Days again...............
