I have a similar problem. When I fill it up, the auto shut off at the pump (any pump) doesn't work and gas will run out of the fill tube. I have to listen very carefully to make sure I stop the pump just before it fills completely. I'm guessing it's a blockage in the vent tube. That might be your problem, too.

I had some trouble like this a few years back on my 01 Blazer. I replaced a solenoid, I think it is in one of the gas tank vent or purge lines. It was located in front of the spare tire.

I could not tell if it was hanging up or what. It seamed to be free to move inside and I thought it should be ok so I put it back. The tank still filled slow so I purchased a new one. After I replaced it the tank has filled normally ever since.

It is baffled to keep water out but were it is located it looked like it gets a lot of trash splashed on it.

Hope this helps
