fuel pump no good

I think my fuel pump went bad today on my 01 xtreme. my truck stalled so i puled over and check for spark which i had. also i felt the relay clicking for the pump. i did hear the pump making some grumbling noises when i would turn the key but after doing that about 8 times it didnt make any noises anymore. does anyone know the cheapest place to buy a replacement pump.

the cheapest is the airtex pump but i have had and heard of bad exp with them.
i went with bosche the second time (lifetime warranty) but it is pricey.

almost all local parts stores sell the airtex...so options are limited.

Not sure where your from, but I got a prime choice pump for $65 with a lifetime warranty here in Ontario.

i only found the assembly on there site. is there a diy for the pump?

Unless you enjoy replacing pumps I would replace it with the oem ac delco.

Its a complete assembly with pump.
As for the delcos... We have changed 3 in 2 years in a buddies jimmy. So I find they are getting just as bad.
But I did make an access hole in mine. Just makes it soooo much easier.

Some mechanics won't even install another brand other than OEM on those vehicles simply because they were tired of people coming back complaining.

well that was a total nightmare i cant wait to get my title in the mail to sell the truck. the new pump install went not to bad however. the issue is an electrical problem. the wire that is suppose to give power is giving ground and i traced it all the way up to the front and the problem is coming from the engine bay area. the relay was clicking and now that doesnt even get power anymore. hopefully i can sell the truck for something since its an extreme. i cant wait to get rid of this thing.
