fuel pump wiring????
 

I'm instailling a new delphi fuel pump, and requires changing pig tail connector. I have purple, gray, black, and black all the same gauge wire. new pig tail has purple,gray, orange and black. Gray and purple are no proublem. But Diagram says black small gauge goes to orange, black large gauge goes to black. Wire gauges are the same. What should i do?

Tear some of the plastic covering off and see if the wire changes In the next 6". Maybe this isn't the first pump that's been replaced in that truck. I know when I changed mine there was a noticeable differance in the sizes of the 2 ground wires
