Gate Help? Accuator,support?
So I have a 04 4-door glass goes up and gate comes down. I searched and couldnt find what I was looking for. They other day I opened the glass and gate and the "support" or pressurized piece from the driver side on the gate to the body was off the top ****, by the tailight. Im not sure what people call these things, I took it off because it was missing the C clamp thingy on the top, which is why it came off I guess. The strut or whatever you wanna call it, is not the pressurized and is good but the clip is gone. Autozone had no idea even looking at the strut with the other clip on it, PepBoys too. So its not the window support struts, nor the gate cables, but the gate struts which is there i guess to help it down easy. One guy suggested to take them off, but I like my things stock somewhat and if it was on there mentality. So I am either looking for a replacement or just the clip cause really thats all I need. I did look at some but am confused as to how they measure such an item for applications. Thanks In advance guys!
P.S. On a side note, is it worth buying a clintons manuel for my truck?

RE: Gate Help? Accuator,support?
take the strut out, bring it to an autovalue or whatever parts store. should be able to match the old with a new, and they aren't expensive.

Yeah Was able to bring it to an autozone and they order me a new one $21.99. Even though its fine and all I needed really was the clip I guess, also I wonder why it became loose and why they are even there, besides to slow the gate down. It ecen has the cables too, but anyways thanks.

I think what you are talking about are referred to as "gas risers". They look like miniature shock absorbers and work similarly.
