giving up (problem solved)

Ok im pretty sure I know what this is but thought I would post it anyways in a desperate attempt to find some good news but I am doubting any good news will come of this... I just bought this engine and cant afford a new one!
Ok yesterday, driving down the road and overheated... no problem, I popped the hood, found that a coolant hose had came unhooked, put it back on, and filled the coolant again...
today, went fishing, engine overheated, checked the coolant and it was all gone, filled it back up, drove to my buddies house, sat in there for a bit, came out and saw coolant all over the road, found the leak and here is a picture of it... looks like the oil pan seal... Head gasket?

could you circle the seal or enlarge the part with the seal the image is a little grainy.

freeze plug ? in my C10 i had a freeze plug go out last summer it was dumping out coolant faster then i could pour it in. it was right above the starter. so i couldnt see it.

RE: giving up

but if its comming from up front like that i doubt its a freeze plug. looks more liek a seep hole in the water pump. but ive always heared when it goes bad it wont leak that bad. look and see if you can see where it looked like coolant was leaking from the seep hole on the water pump.

Yeah I drained the oil last night into a clear tub and saw no sign of antifreeze so thats a definate plus! It was leaking like a SOB so it could very well be the freeze plug, I will look closer when I get a chance... I think what I saw around the oil pan seal might have just been stuff that had leaked down...

thanks for the suggestions guys, I took the water pump off and sure enough I killed the gaskets, a new pump was ony 32 bucks and one problem is now out of the way [sm=bounceybounce.gif]
