Glove Box Won't Close
 

I didn't check search,
I'm sure theres some topics about it so forgive me if I am double-posting...

I was on a trip last night and my lady friend attempted to close the passenger-side glove box when the IPOD Harness wire was laced through the latching mechanism and now the glove-box no longer closes or latches on.

Is there an easy way to fix this?

Or,
Do the two screws next to the latch physically take the latch out, and I can just buy a new part with a working spring on it?
